The Minister of State, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, arrives in Addis Ababa

Assigned by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, arrived Monday in Addis Ababa, capital of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, to participate in the 46th ordinary session of the African Union (AU) Executive Council, scheduled for February 12-13, 2025.

The session's agenda, held ahead of the AU Summit scheduled for February 15-16, 2025, includes numerous key files and issues related to joint African action, including the review of annual reports on continental organization activities and its various bodies, the election of AU Peace and Security Council members, the election of six AU commissioners, the completion of the legal framework for the African Continental Free Trade Area, and the adoption of statutes for the African disaster prevention and response mechanism.

On the sidelines of his participation in the proceedings of the Executive Council, Attaf will conduct bilateral talks with foreign ministers from brotherly African countries.
