BIOGRAPHY

His Excellency Mr. Boumediene Guennad, was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Algeria to Türkiye, Turkmenistan and Georgia since 20 June 2025.

Mr. Guennad obtained the Diploma of Algiers National School of Administration, Diplomatic Section in June 1981, and English First Certificate from Cambridge University in 1991.

Ambassador Guennad joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1981. He held several positions at the Ministry, including Director General of Asia and Oceania, Head of the Office of the Minister Delegate, in charge of Maghreb and African Affairs and Deputy Director for the Arab Maghreb Union.

He was appointed as Ambassador to Russia, Armenia and Belarus (2023-2025), Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kirghizstan (2022-2023), Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire (2010-2015), Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) in Rabat, Morocco (2005-2010) and Ambassador to Chad (2001-2004).

Through his diplomatic career, Ambassador Guennad received many awards and honors. He was awarded the honor of Officer of the National Order of the Republic of Chad, Commander of the National Order of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and the Medal of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Contribution to International Cooperation.

In addition to Arabic, he speaks English, French and basic Russian.
